"The Western Eye" Photography Competition: Accepting Student Entries Nov. 8 – 10

The Western Eye Photography Competition, open to all Maricopa County Community College students, is accepting submissions from Nov. 8 through Nov. 10.

Photos must have been captured between January 2020 and November 2021. Entries will be accepted in the following formats: color, black and white, hand-colored, alternative process; and/or as digital images.

 

The fee to enter three photos is $15, with an added charge of $2, for each additional shot.  A limit of 5 images may be submitted per student. 

Cash prizes will be awarded for: 1st place ($150), 2nd place ($100) and 3rd place ($50).  This year’s judge is Arizona artist .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Exhibit:  November 15 â€“ December 5

The Western Eye Photography Exhibition opens Nov. 15,  with a reception from 5:30 – 8 pm.   

The free exhibition will be hosted in The Eric Fischl Gallery, at the  through Dec. 5.  All juried photos from the competition will be displayed.  Please  before traveling to campus, and wear a face covering inside the Gallery.

Virtual Submission Dates:         Nov. 8 – 10, 2021.
Winners Must Deliver Images:  Nov. 12, 2021; 11 am – 6 pm.

Each submission requires a completed Entry Form.  Past winners may not enter previously entered photos.

Please clearly label the top of prints.  Digital files must be named using the provided convention.
Students whose work is selected as Best-In-Show will be notified by Nov. 12, via email.
