FAQs-Behavioral Assessment
Anyone who feels a student's behavior is concerning can make a BAT (Behavioral Assessment Team) referral, including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
If you feel there is an immediate threat, call the district Police Communications Center at 480-784-0911.
To make a referral, use the Incident Report link on the BAT home page. You may also leave a message at the Manger of Conduct & Compliance at 602-285-7567. You will be asked for basic information about the student, how to contact you (in case the BAT Committee has follow-up questions), and for a description of the incident or behaviors that prompted the referral.
You are BAT's best resource because you may be familiar to the student. If you are comfortable doing so, tell the student that you are concerned and ask if they are okay. In many cases, students will indicate that they could use some help and you can refer them to a counselor at the Counseling Development at 602-285-7392.
BAT team members evaluate the information and make an assessment of the students conduct. Reporting, however, is the most critical step.
BAT provides students with confidential, respectful, proactive support, while offering resources and balancing the educational needs of students with the overall mission of 独家爆料.
You do not have to make this determination. The most critical step is that you report the concerning behavior to College Police at 602-285-7254 or file an online. If another campus resource is more appropriate, BAT will refer the student and handle the transfer of information.
NOTE: Never promise confidentiality to student(s) if they share information with you that may require some intervention.
