Communication & World Languages
The Department of Communication, Reading, American Sign Language and Education offers several academic pathways as well as a rich and diverse array of programs.
Communication
Designed to enhance public speaking, small group, interpersonal and writing abilities through analytical and skill development. Successful completion of this program results in an AA/SR degree.
Interpreter Preparation/American Sign Language
The Interpreter Preparation Program enables students to become interpreters between deaf and hearing people. Successful completion of this program results in Certificate of Completion or AAS degree.
Reading
The Reading Department offers a wide variety of reading/study-based courses at different levels, including Reading ESL, Developmental Reading, Critical and Evaluative Reading and College Study Skills.
Education
The Education program offers core EDU classes in preparation for transfer to the university where students can complete their teaching degree.
